Iqaluit

The Lord loves people, cities and nations. He has a plan and a purpose, a destiny and a call for each to fulfil. He came that we might have life and have it to the full. In scripture we see Jesus healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons and weeping over cities. Why? Because Jesus was full of compassion and love. Through the last two decades the Lord has directed me to pray in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. I had an amazing faith filled team of people that were part of Gateways Ministries and journeyed with me. As we went, we fulfilled our assignment in whatever way He directed. Presently, my attention has been drawn to Canada. This is Canada's 150th year of confederation. The Lord has directed me to take teams to all the capitals in Canada to pray for the nation. These trips will be facilitated through our Canadian ministry called Worldchangers Canada. It all started about a month ago when I was contacted by a lawyer friend of mine, Kisa Mac Donald. She asked me if I would consider going to Iqaluit, Nunavut. My first response was why in the world would I do that! I hate snow and cold and I don't like winter! And then I prayed and I caught Gods heart for these beautiful people that are called by His name and this land of His. I felt something of a Macedonian call on it...come over here! As I began to research the area I saw that the enemy is very thoroughly entrenched. Nunavut has the highest suicide rate in Canada, 10 times higher than anywhere else in Canada. In fact, it rates among the highest in the world. There is an extreme amount of intergenerational trauma and the Inuit families are suffering greatly. These dear Inuit people live in one of the harshest climates on the planet and they live in poverty. The cost of 2 litres of milk is $6.50 and a 1 litre bottle of coke is $10.00! From unemployment, domestic violence, drug and alcohol addiction to physical and sexual abuse to the abortion rate, all are rampant and soaring. The people are isolated as there is only one way out and that is by air and the cost is exorbitant. But, prayer changes atmospheres. It shifts strongholds and sets captives free. It removes stones and prepares a highway for the Lord. God has set His plan in motion and with Him all things are possible! I am going to pray on the land in Iqaluit, Nunavut. What I need is people to partner with me. This is your invitation to help. There are two ways you can partner: 1. Pray. Pray for us, pray for Canada and pray for Nunavut. 2. Help fund us to go!! The cost to fly into Iqaluit alone is over $3000! Worldchangers Canada is a Canadian charity. All donations are tax receiptable.
